Memory Box and poppystamps 3 cards today!

Pam Sparks Feathertree Frame Thank you

Hello! Distress ink watercoloring again for this thank you card. I just brushed on Distress ink refills.  Dropped a drop on acetate, spritzed with a few shots of water and brushed it on here and there on watercolor paper…very forgiving. yay!

I die cut the Feathertree Frame in heavy white card-stock, inked it by pouncing it with an embossing pad and pouring on the gold embossing powder.  I used Tsukineko’s gold powder this time.

The sentiment is stamped with the MISTI stamping tool and embossed with the same ink and powder on a strip of vellum.

Pam Sparks Forest Tree Frame Owl

Here I did the same thing with the Distress ink refills but just brushed straight across but overlapped the strokes… wilted violet, chipped sapphire, tumbled glass and forest moss, I think…I always think I’ll remember! ugh.

I die cut the Forest Tree Frame die in heavy white card-stock, die cut the owl in kraft card-stock, inked him with Gathered Twigs Distress ink, colored his eyes with a Copic Sketch black marker and added white to his chest with the Sharpie White pen…links to the products below.

Sentiment stamped with Taylored Expressions new Oreo Hybrid stamp pad and the MISTI stamping tool.

Whew – one more card for today…I’ve had this one done for awhile but just haven’t gotten it worked in but I need to!

Pam Sparks Ocean Corner

I watercolored the backgrounds and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Brush pens…love them too!  oh you know, these days…what’s not to love about everything in the paper crafting industry!  So much wow out there!

Some of the Sharpie white pen dots again and a sentiment stamped with the MISTI again…YES, if you’ve had any doubt whether this tool is worth the investment, I’m here to tell you YES, you need it and will LOVE it!  I have both sizes and two of each…I share with our grandkids and classes too though..wink, wink.  Our granddaughters all want them for their birthday gifts this year too!  So far two down…two to go! lol

ok – I’ll shut up.  It’s Saturday and the eve of a big get something done vacation weekend!  I’m expecting Tim home any minute to work.  Painting and fixing. yuk. But thankful cuz it needs done!

OH – crazy morning though… did this happen to any of you?  I got woke up a few minutes after 7 this a.m. because the bed was shaking!!!  So strange!  It happened 3 times. Earthquake in Oklahoma and I’m in IA!  This happened one other time some years ago…same thing…still sleeping and woke me up but I’d forgotten and didn’t put two and two together until I checked Facebook and my sister commented that they were out eating breakfast and the pictures were moving on the wall in the restaurant! Yikes that we were feeling something so far away from both of us.  She lives 3 hours away from me!

Did it wake you up?  Hope some mosquitoes lost their lives! Ha!

Thanks for stopping by! ttul!

  1. oh my goodness, pam, these are all so beautifully done! your watercolour backgrounds are gorgeous, the gold embossing just so elegant and your sharpie pen accents are perfect! you’re a great enabler, but i’m still sitting on the fence about the misti; not sure i’d use it much.

  2. Pam, your cards rock! That’s what you were feeling this morning! Heehee! Beautiful coloring! I need more Zig practice, but getting there. 🙂 Thanks for inspiring me to get crafty.

  3. Mosquitoes, wasps, spiders… Any of these could fall down a giant hole and I wouldn’t mind one bit. Sad that people have to suffer…
As for your cards…. All lovely as always. Distress inks are my favourites. I like the subtlety of the colours – even the brights have that quality to them.
Love your cute owl, stamped sentiment on vellum and awesomely sweet sea creature’s card.
Hope MISTI gives you a discount on that many orders!!!

  4. Like them all – BUT the first one is absolutely stunning and loving your distress water coloring,And don’t you love the Misti, great tool. I also like the last card as well, with all the sea creatures. PS I emailed you about something privately.

  5. All of these cards are absolutely fabulous. Your ink blending backgrounds are so beautiful and so well done. I like the little spotted owl, the beautiful feather trees and the under sea world all are so amazing.
And yes, I’ve been awaken by heavy thumps, jilts, rocking, shaking you name it. Although I live in the State of WA, I’m originally from SF, CA. I’ve experienced some major earthquakes; so much as a jar of peanuts fell on my head…ouchy. Hee, hee! I’ve also experience earthquakes here in WA. I once was woken up by a hard jolt it felt like someone picked up my bed and dropped it. Kind of scary but you get use to them.
Well Pam, thanks for sharing your gorgeous cards and talents. Enjoyed them very much.

  6. Love the water coloring. Looks so wonderful but it is so easy !!! Cards are great as usual. I was walking on the treadmill and didn’t feel the earth quake but Jerry did. Amazing that we are so far away and still feel it !!!

  7. Absolutely gorgeous cards Pam. Love all the backgrounds; just fabulous!!!! The frame dies are awesome. I’m crazy about nautical scenes too! So very nicely done on all! Thanks for sharing with us!

  8. Wow!!!!! Pam these are amazing! I love that first card , your background looks amazing ! I have a few with that die not posted yet and I love that die!
I live in earthquake country so I feel it all the time it can be very scary! Time to make a shaker card then 🙂

  9. Oh what great cards Pam! I love the watercolor backgrounds! So pretty! Great die cuts too! I must have slept through the quake. Some have said they felt it, not me though. LOL! 🙂

  10. Wonderful cards! I’m especially drawn to those wonderful leaves, and that beautiful gold ep! No earthquakes here (WA), but I too hope it killed a few mosquitoes!

  11. lol, love your mosquitoes comment! 🙂 Such beautiful cards, I love the softness of the water scene and that the color comes from the little animals. The single owl on the tree is so cute! And the embossed tree diecut is beautiful and such a neat idea, love it! You did a wonderful job designing these! Thanks for sharing.

  12. Just look at all the supplies you used to make these cards. And that’s probably not all. It takes a village of supplies, doesn’t it? Ha! I saw those on my way down to make my comment, so it was the first thing on my mind. I tell you, your first card is drop dead gorgeous with the gold and those warm watercolors. LOVE that die! I love cute, too, so I’m really loving your next two cards. I came so close to getting that underwater corner… As for earthquakes, was riding in a school bus, got to school, found our school caved in. Didn’t even feel it in the bus. Had a small one here a few years back. Didn’t feel it much, but saw some hanging things swaying. I’m on the Oregon coast, so we’re bracing for the big one which they say is overdue.

  13. Great backgrounds, love the embossing and the owl is just too cute, I have that set and I really need to get it out and play with it 🙂 Hope you were able to get all your work done you wanted to get done

  14. Awesome card but the one for ATCAS I love the most great colors, design and that gold embossing. Thanks for joining us over at ATCAS.

  15. That leaf card is amazing, Pam. I always love your Memory Box cards. (Well, the others too, but I just love all the Memory Box dies and you showcase them beautifully.) 🙂

I love hearing from you! Thank YOU!
